Fat

Just posting some more fatty pics of myself to remind me I never want to be there again.

When Sunday is Saturday

I love a three day weekend. LOVE! It's like a two day weekend, but with more laying around and crabbing.

Let's get the weight out of the way first. Last weekend I was up to 193. I'm happy to report I was back down to 190 today. That NYC weight is gone. And pretty darn quickly. Just in time for me to put on the Orlando weight. I'll have a full week to abuse my body, unlike the day and a half I had for NYC. I better be careful because I went out this morning and bought four pairs of new pants. I don't have any in my current size (34) and as the weather starts changing, I'm not going to want to wear shorts to work anymore. The office is fucking cold enough as it is.

Ken decided to work both days of the weekend. He never seems to be able to get ahead, so the weekends are the best time for him to get work done. All the insanity is missing and he can dive head first into what needs to be done. When he got home last night, I told him the least he could do was take me out to dinner. I was hungry and spent the whole day cleaning the house. I needed to get out, even if it was just to eat. Neither of us could figure out where to go. Ken suggested this new Japanese steakhouse that just opened up. I surprised him by agreeing. You need to know, I don't like new things. I like tried and true things. Any time he brings up a new place, I'm very quick to poo-poo it. But not this time for some odd reason. It's not because I love a Japanese steakhouse. In fact, I've never been to one. So we went. And Ken freaked out. Everything about it was confusing to him. He couldn't figure out the food, he was completely distracted by everything. He freaked out. And that's what makes the story even funnier, if you knew either of us. It's my job to feel very out of place and his to embrace the new experience. I ordered something that I don't remember exactly what it was (some sushi thingie), but it was fucking delicious. We didn't sit at one of the tables where the chef comes out and cooks in front of you, but maybe we'll do that next time.

Wait. I went to the website and looked up what it was I had. It was called Dynamite
(spicy tuna, yellowtail, avocado and cream cheese lightly fried w. baked scallop and crabmeat on top)

I'm starting to feel a bit sore right now. I picked today to really start organizing my office. And organizing includes filing away the last 20 months worth of comics. It's been almost two years since I did this last. This involves digging all the long boxes of comics out of my office closet, the guest room closet and the bedroom closet. And then I need to alphabetically file 2 1/2 long boxes of comics in the existing boxes. What sucks is there isn't enough room to do this without shifting books out of box A into box B, etc etc etc. And if you aren't familiar with a long box of comics, those bitches are heavy. And they keep getting heavier as comics are printed on heavier paper now than they used to be. Just so you know, I've complete unpacking, shifting and repacking 31 long boxes of books. I'm glad that task is over for the foreseeable future.

You know, this was an extremely long week for me. I'm not really ready to talk about it, but I've had so much on my mind and it's been very hard for me. I never realized exactly how much time I have to get lost in my brain at work until this week. This is why my posts this week have been mostly on the poopy side. I've been so worked up and I really don't know why. I know how it happened, I just don't understand why it happened. Okay, that's enough of that. For someone who isn't ready to talk about it.....

P.S.

I just noticed if you watch the video directly at YouTube, you can watch it in better quality. So do that.

Mad props to Ken for taking the crappy video we shot this weekend and turning it into this. He's amazing.

Bad props to YouTube for sucking away some of the quality.

Another Poopy Post

I'd ask if we could press the reset button on today, but I don't even want to try and relive it. Let's just write it off and start fresh tomorrow. It gets us one day closer to the weekend anyway. Three day weekends are my friends.

Anyway, let's recap, shall we?

~Had the shittiest night of sleep. Couldn't fall asleep to save my life.
~Woke up with this sore throat still with me. Bah.
~Ken slept through his alarm and had a freak out attack when he finally woke up. Luckily he got me to work on time.
~Go out to the car only to discover that everything in Ken's car was piled up on his front seat. ~Someone broke into the car looking for money. Didn't appear to take anything. They also got my car. Everything in it was piled in my driver's seat. All the change in the armrest is now owned by a crackhead.
~Ran into FrankenKlinger in the lobby of the building. Actually didn't actuall run into her, but saw her standing at the security desk chatting up the security guards (instead of up at her desk). I did an about face and found a different staircase to climb to get to work. Crisis averted.
~Got to listen to the usual bitching and moaning of my co-workers. (Sure, this isn't anything different from any other day, but I just wasn't in the mood today.)
~Someone (yes, FrankenKlinger, you) was wearing a perfume I am allergic to and my eye broke out like it tends to do when confronted with toxic perfumes.

Things seemed to get better after I finally popped some cold medicine. Probably because the whole world went fuzzy. Fuzzy can be good.

Right now I'm exhausted and I am going to climb into bed. Sure, it's only 9 o'clock, but I'm that tired. I'll probably fall asleep watching Project Runway, but that's okay. I've gotten used to watching it on Thursday nights after work.

Is It Friday Yet?

I'm catching a cold. I'm not happy about it. The weather has been so screwed up, my body doesn't quite know what to make of it. We've been having classic September weather all month. It's August and I should be sweating my balls off. Instead I've had to dig out a quilt, I'm shutting the window some nights and I'm thinking of wearing pants to work tomorrow. (Calm down. I wear shorts to work everyday.) Between the hectic weekend and the chilly weather, my body is feeling it. Ugh.

For the last five years or so, the subject of setting up wills and medical proxies has been coming up. This is something we need to do, but just never seem to get around to doing. It's not the most pleasant thing to think about, but it's something that needs to be done. Since we're sinful faggots who cannot legally marry in this state, we really have no legal rights in each other's lives. God forbid something happen to Ken, I'm sure his family will swoop in and have me shut out of health decisions and / or property. We finally have a call in to the lawyer and he says this is all very simple to put together. All we need to do is figure out if there are any specific things we would want to will to someone, who would be our executor should we both die at the same time and other things like that. It's really not as easy as I thought it would be. If I die first, naturally Ken gets everything. But who would get everything if we die together? And who do I trust enough to handle my estate? Ugh. Ken gave me a deadline of Saturday to get names and things in order. Wish me luck.

Sunday Rage Is Now Gone

I've calmed down since last night's adventures with the faulty Flip Video camera. It took me all of last night and a few hours today, but I finally got the camera to be recognized by my computer long enough to get the videos off the camera and onto the computer. A little while ago I received an email from the makers of the Flip Video camera saying they'll be sending me out a return authorization so I can get one that works. Good. This just means I won't have it for my trip to the Orlandos in a week and a half. Sadsies. Anyway, the clips are off the camera and Ken has volunteered to take what footage we have and try to make a video out of it. We'll see.

Anyway, I was going to post a little about this weekend. I had such a great time. I was expecting to, but it turned out to be even more fun that I thought it would be. I climbed into bed on Friday night really, really early. I had the alarm set for 5:30 on Saturday morning. Luckily I was tired enough on Friday night to be asleep relatively early. The train ride down was really nice. The train car we were in was 90% empty. For a little while, we were the only ones in the whole car. The closer to the city we got, the more nervous I got. At one point, the nerves started to go but were replaced with nausea. Got to the city at 9:30 in the morning and headed off to Holly's hotel. I don't know if it showed or not, but I was nervous as shit meeting her face to face. In fact, once in her hotel room, I was shaking. I think Ken managed to distract her enough for me to regain my composure. After a quick visit that included candy, we went off to meet Eric, Jed & (F)reddy and start eating cupcakes. Larry joined us shortly thereafter and we hiked around from cupcake shop to cupcake shop. I love cupcakes.

At 3 we were due at the official meet & greet. We ended up with just over a dozen people in all. Joe came in from Philly, StevyB drove up from Baltimore, Kevin & Brian came in from Danbury, Robert, British John and David B & Leon (forgive me if that's not his name) all came in from different parts of the city. It was a whole lot of fun. After lunch, we all headed over to Posh, which was cool. The place was empty and we took over the big comfy couches at the back of the place. This went on for a good long time until people started to leave. The group kept getting smaller and smaller as the night went on. Eventually, Ken and I had to leave, too, and meet up with friends we were staying with.

The next morning, Ken & I, our hosts George & Steve, Holly, British John and J Z (thank you again for your generous gift!!! Can't wait to watch it all!) all met up for brunch. Holly & I split my Monte Cristo (which was okay) and her cheeseburger (which was delicious) and a piece of chocolate mousse cake (which was out of this world). We poked around the city for a little bit before Ken & I needed to get our train home.

The weekend was exhausting, but in the best way possible. Everyone was amazingly cool. I regret not going down earlier to hang out some more. (F)reddy, next time we meet up, I'm getting drunk with you. It's in print now, so you have to hold me to it.

Me on the train. I'm sleepy.

Look who I found!

(F)reddy and me.

Someone knows how to enjoy a cupcake.

You, me and cupcake makes three.

I will marry this man someday, our respective partners be damned.

Joe! and I. Between the two of us, we've lost the Olsen twins, weight-wise. And a little bit more. We rule the school!

I love me some Larry Klye. So back off Ryan Star Jones and Miss Wes!!!

Look at all those beautiful people. Oh, and (F)reddy, too.

What could be tastier than a Walter sandwich with a slice of Kevin and a slice of (F)reddy?

Sunday brunch

The perfect bowling ball bag for the Superbee. Don't you think?

The fabulous Steve & Gus

I threw a bunch more pictures up on my Facebook page. If you're a friend of mine on the Facebooks, please check the rest out. Blogger is taking too long to throw any more pictures up her. LOL!

Sunday Rage

Okay, I got lazy and took the last week off from this blog. It wasn't intentional, just something that happened. Tonight is just going to be a short one because I'm about to rage and throw something against the wall. I went to NYC this weekend (more about that later) and brought my new Flip Video camera with me. I took a bunch of video and Ken wanted to start trying to edit it all together when we got home. Cool. Only the piece of shit Flip Video camera decided it didn't want to play along. The computer won't recognize it. I hooked it up to my computer and it won't recognize it. I hooked it up to the laptop downstairs and again, the computer won't recognize it. I had this problem when I first got it, sent off an email to tech support and they sent a list of things to try. Before I could try them, the computer decided to recognize the camera and I just filed the email away. I dug it out tonight and none of their troubleshooting works. I sent off a new email and hopefully something will come of that. I'm really ticked off. So pissed. I just want to throw the piece of crap camera against the wall and smash it to bits. It'll work just as well in pieces.

Anyway, before I forget, it's Sunday and it's weigh in time. Last Sunday I was 191. I never posted that. Today, I was 193. I'm sure going on a cup cake crawl didn't help the weigh in at all.

Medical Talk With Doctor Walter

So the weekend is half over and I haven't done a thing yet. Not that that's such a bad thing. I really didn't want to do anything this weekend. Last weekend I had a friend come visit, next weekend I go to NYC. This is my weekend of beauty and rest. Or something like that. I managed to finally get the dvr all cleaned out. I still have a small stack of comics I want to finish off. I decided against cleaning because I just didn't have it in me today.

I did suggest to Ken that we go see Batman today, but we were out too early for it and he poo-pooed the idea. I find this funny because I don't ever want to go to the movies and that's all he wants to do. So when I actually brought it up and it was a movie we both wanted to see, I thought it would be a done deal. Maybe tomorrow, provided I still have the desire to sit in a movie theater.

So I had a doctor's appointment for Tuesday morning. I took the whole day off, even though the appt was cancelled at the last minute. I rescheduled for Thursday morning at 8:15. Now, if I was seeing my regular doctor, 8:15 means 8:15. Instead I saw the PA, and for him 8:15 means 8:45. Every single time I've had an appointment with him, I would have to reschedule because he would cancel. And then I would see him 30 minutes after my appointment was. My opinion of him isn't very high. Anyway, I was going to see him to get the results from my latest cholesterol test. My cholesterol has been higher than it should be and it's been frustrating to me. I've been doing all the right things to get it in check, but with no success. The doctor put me on a niacin pill which is great for reducing cholesterol. I started eating oatmeal religiously. I cut egg yolks out of my diet completely. I stepped up my exercise. All these things are great for reducing cholesterol. Well, all that got me was higher cholesterol. Can you fucking believe it? After my last visit, I was devastated. Anyway, at that last appointment, the PA took me off the niacin. I stopped avoiding egg yolks. I had to drastically reduce my exercise because of the sciatic pain. I cut back on the oatmeal. And I was really expecting to hear an even worse number this time. Instead, I brought my cholesterol down 15 points. It really doesn't make any sense to me at all. None. My total is 204, which is still just a wee bit high. It should be 200 at the highest. I go back in six months to have it rechecked and I'm hoping it will be right back where it should be.

I also had a test to check my liver functions. After a great weight loss, I was told, irregularities tend to show up in the liver. My liver test couldn't have come back better. The number that they really pay attention to (for what, I don't know, to be honest) was low. Really low. Below the normal range. I was told that I don't pollute my liver enough. Ha! I should get drunk tonight.

And before I forget, I no longer think my PA is a douchebag. He gave me a prescription for muscle relaxers and for Tylenol with Codeine for the sciatic pain. I think I'm going to save the pills for when it really, really hurts. Because some days it does. Tomorrow may be one of those days. I always go out for a walk on Sunday mornings, but I also went out today and last night. Three days in a row might have a negative effect on me. We'll see.

Nope

No time to blog tonight. I'm tired, crabby and missing Big Brother. (I love you, DVR!)

I need to write about the doctor today, but that's going to have to wait until tomorrow.

August?

I'm off today. Doctor's appointment. Which was cancelled on me by the doctor. Didn't get the message until I got home from work last night. Now I have to call and reschedule. I should probably have gone into work today since I didn't have the appointment anymore, but I decided I needed a Walter day.

Right now it's 11 in the morning and it's only 64 degrees. That's not too far from yesterday's high temp. It peaked out at 69 degrees at 10:30 yesterday morning and then fell. We had wicked thunderstorms all afternoon yesterday. The thunder and lightning went on for just over two hours. I can't remember the last time we had a storm like that. Usually with thunder and lightning, that storm is over in a half hour or less. This just lingered. And rained. And rained. And rained. It's supposed to hit the mid-70s today, but at the rate it's going, I don't know if it's going to happen. I'm afraid I'm going to end up sick. This is August. It's supposed to be oppressively hot. This is more like late September weather.

One of the annoying things about having a random day off is my cat Ollie. He's the neediest, most co-dependent cat I've ever known. If I'm home, he needs to be my shadow. I was trying to clean and file away papers earlier and he made it impossible. Right now he's laying on me. When I get up to flip the laundry, he's going to follow me and I'll probably end up stumbling over him as he gets underfoot. He's the sweetest cat alive, but he needs to go find a place to sleep. And actually, that's when he's at his most annoying. When he is tired and needing to sleep. Because all he wants to do is sleep on me and if I'm doing stuff, he's walking around, following me in a groggy state and getting more in the way than before. But I love him and can't imagine him not being here.

Damn You Cheesecake Factory!!!!!

So it's Sunday, which is always weigh in day. I didn't plan on having cheesecake yesterday. In fact, when the menu was brought back for the selection of the cheesecake, I immediately slammed it shut, saying I wasn't going to have any. Ken followed suit and Marla looked bummed out. She wanted to get something, but wasn't going to if we weren't. Ken was the first to buckle. By the time the waiter came back, I had buckled, too. I blame both Ken and Marla for making me order the chocolate peanut butter cookie dough cheesecake. Those heartless bitches.

Anyway, with that being said, and not even mentioning eating a whole order of mozzarella sticks by myself the night before, I still had a really good weigh in. I'm back down to 190. I'm thrilled. I was sure I was going to have a higher number. I keep imagining what the weigh in would have been without the fried cheese or the cheesecake.

I was too lazy last night to grab the camera, but not today. Here are a couple shots of Marla and I together. Now I just need to email her the pics. Baby steps.... :-)

Old Friends

I saw my friend Marla today. I'm guessing it's been about five years since we've seen each other. We've been friends for years and years. Since back in the late 80s, I think. She dated my friend Matt back in college and that's how I got to know her. We've grown apart over the years, but that's nothing out of the ordinary. Think back twenty years and try to figure out who you still see on a regular basis. I'm guessing not a lot of people. Our lives take us in different directions.

Anyway, Marla came up for a visit today. She's got all sorts of shit going on in her life that I'm not going to spill here. I think she needed to get away from it all for a little bit and I think that's where I came in. I think she was in need of a complete escape and she turned to someone who isn't involved in any of the current drama. It's like she stepped back in time for the day. And I'm glad I could help. Marla's a great lady. Seeing her makes me pine just a little bit for the old times. Everything seemed so much less complicated. It's funny how my memory has the greatest "edit" button. Thinking back to the good old days, I only get the warm fuzzies. I don't recall any of the unpleasant bullshit. I like that. It's a nice place to retreat to every once in a while.

I'd post a picture of two of us together, but the camera is downstairs and I'm dog tired. There's no way in hell I'm going to fetch it right now. Maybe tomorrow when I blog about all the fucking weight I gained as a result of Marla's visit. She and Ken bullied me into having cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory. Bastards!

In completely unrelated news, I got a pre-jury duty questionnaire in the mail today. I'm not a happy camper at all. The pre-jury duty questionnaire is generally followed up with a stint of jury duty. This is my second go-round. This won't be as easy as my first time when I didn't have to report at all. Mark my words. Bah!

Today

I posted a blog from work today, or so I thought. It never made it to blogspot, though. At work, I can only email in a blog post as opposed to going to blogspot to make the same post. Blogspot is blocked. So I was in the heat of some anger and whipped up a quickie post. What happened was this. The skank ass whore that I sit near, knowing full well I have allergies to a number of perfumes, bathed in some disgusting dollar store fragrance which I had an allergic reaction to. My eyes stayed red for the entire day and my headache is just now subsiding. Rather than confront her like I probably should have, I took the passive aggressive approach (which I'm much better at.) Whenever anyone would stop by my desk, they'd comment on how terrible I looked and I would reply, not in my indoor voice, that someone is doused in perfume and I'm having a terrible allergic reaction to it. I made a point of making sure she heard it a number of times. And because I'm petty, I decided to go pay a visit to the director's office. He's a very cool guy and we're damn lucky to have him. Anyway, I went in and asked if he remembered the reminder email he sent out a few months ago about people being considerate to co-workers who have allergies to scents and flowers. I simply told him that my cubemate bathed in perfume that I'm allergic to and would it be a bother to send out another reminder because I'm not looking to cause trouble. He knew exactly who I was talking about and was happy to oblige. He's really great. The email hit after she left but before I did, so I know she'll see it tomorrow. Not that it will do much good, at least immediately, because I'm going to end up reacting to what's left in the air.

Keep Up The Posts

Look at this. Two day in a row. Can you stand it?

So I took today off from work. I didn't really have much planned for the day other than a quick stop in at the doctor's office. I slept in, which felt amazing. I never allow myself to do that. At 9:30 I had to force myself out of bed. I wanted to get to the doctor early and then run a few errands. I synced my iPod because I knew there would be a ton of new podcasts today (there were ten), jumped in the shower and was out of the house by ten. I only live about a mile away from the doctor, so I was there a couple minutes after ten, but then I sat there. And sat. And sat. For forty-five minutes. All I wanted to do was have a tech draw a vial of blood. It put me in a really foul mood. My entire visit should have been ten minutes. Instead it was almost an hour. And I left the iPod in the car because I didn't think I'd get much of a chance to listen to it.

After the doctor I headed to the vet to pick up more food for Lucy. She's on a special prescription diet that I can only get at the vet's office. I wanted to get three different flavors, but they were out of the venison variety. Of course they were because of the three that she can have, it's her favorite. Not saying that she likes any of the varieties, but she hates that one the least. They used to also make it in rabbit, but that's been discontinued. That's the other flavor she would eat without putting up too much of a fuss. I'm trying to stock up on the food now because when we're on vacation, my friend Carol is going to be coming over to feed them. It's easier for her if she feeds both cats the same food. Ollie has his own food, but Lucy can't have it and it tends to be a pain for others to try and feed them both different foods. So vacation time means Ollie gets to have Lucy's food, which is perfectly safe for him to have. He'd be eating it everyday if it wasn't so damn expensive.

I went to the mall after getting the food. I needed a top up card for my cell phone and I decided to browse while I was there. I ended up buying a couple of new shirts (they aren't XLT, just XL, but they were on clearance for $3 and they fit fine... I just prefer them to be a little longer since my torso is a little longer than most) and a new pair of shorts. And not just any shorts. I am now officially in a size 34! Remember, I started out in a size 44 two Augusts ago. This is huge for me. I tried them on and they weren't snug at all. They fit with just a little bit of give. You have no idea what this did for my psyche. I also picked up a new swim suit. I don't have one and I don't really need one, but I thought it would be a good idea for vacation coming up. We're going over to Ryan's house after dinner on the Friday night we're there and just in case I want to swim, I'll have a suit. If not, it doubles as a pair of shorts.

And speaking of vacation... Ken sent me an email from work today. One of my favorite rides is closing two days before we arrive for refurbishment. I'm annoyed. I love the Primeval Whirl ride over in Animal Kingdom. It's one of those rides I can go on over and over again. Ken hates it, so I ride solo, which I don't mind. One year the park was slow enough that I was able to ride it repeatedly without having to get off. Love that! (I'm trying to upload a picture of the ride to this post, but blogger keeps giving me an error message. Bah!)

Two Years

⁂Okay, I've been really bad about posting this week. Really bad. I feel bad. But I'm also starting to sound like a broken record, so....

⁂Today marks my diet's two year anniversary. Diet is probably the wrong word, because it's really a lifestyle change, but that sounds fucking stupid. I know I have to eat more responsibly for the rest of my life. It's not like in my fantasy world where I would only have to do it until I reached my goal and then fall back into the old ways. I sort of feel like I slipped back this week, though. I found myself eating when I wasn't hungry because I was bored. I found myself eating crap I shouldn't have been eating (Edy's, you are a temptress I don't ever want to shake). My willpower and my common sense got together and went on vacation. What that means to me is a 2 pound gain this week (I'm now back to 192), but I was very happy it was only 2 pounds. â„‹onestly, I was expecting to see a 4 or 5 pound gain. Small comfort, I know.

I know how neurotic I sound when I talk about gaining 2 pounds. It happens. The body fluctuates and there's not a whole lot you can do about it. But I take this so seriously that I sometimes get lost in the minutiae. I've fought long and hard to get to where I am right now and I don't want anything to derail me. And the only way I know for that to happen is by obsessing over every small detail. This is what works for me. If it makes me sound like a crazy person, than so be it.

⁂ I'm finding myself getting overwhelmed again. This time with social obligations. Anyone that knows me knows I'm a homebody. I like to be home, I like to shut the world out and I'm not one for much socialization. From time to time it's nice, but I don't like to cut into my own quiet time when I don't have to. That being said, my schedule is getting filled up quicker than I feel comfortable with. Two weeks ago we went to Jersey to see Ken's best friend. This weekend we went over to a friend's house for an impromptu game night. This weekend, an old friend called and said she was probably coming to town next weekend. My sister emailed me and is coming up for a concert. In a couple weeks I'm heading to the city for a get together. Two weeks later I'm on my way to Florida where there will be another one. This is an awful lot for me. I'm getting tired (and a little fetal) just thinking about it. I know it's something that I need to work on before I become that crotchety old man sitting alone on his front porch with a shotgun, yelling at the kids to stay off the lawn. I'm going to try my damnedest to be pleasant, charming, funny and outgoing during all of this. Doesn't mean I'll succeed, but I'm going to try.

⁂I think I mentioned before that I'm trying to go through my iTunes and make sure I play every single song. Since getting the new computer in December, I've tried uploading most of my music onto it. My iTunes library is currently at 36,450 songs. And I've finally gotten my unplayed library down to 17,967 songs, all of which will now fit on my iPod. Earlier this week was the first time the library got small enough to all fit on the iPod. What I've been doing is playing songs from largest file size down, rather than at shuffle. Now that they all fit, I can resume shuffle mode and get a better variety of songs. I know this must be fascinating for everyone. Well, it is for me. I'm such a fucking nerd like that.

⁂I took tomorrow off from work. I have some time I'm about to lose if I don't take it, so I picked tomorrow. I need to go to the doctor to have some more blood work done anyway. I was going to go Tuesday, but decided that doesn't make a very fun three day weekend, having to work Monday. I'm making a promise to myself that I'm not going to sit on the computer all day like I did today. I'm going to be productive and maybe even go shopping or something.
